Engine tuning is an adjustment, modification of the internal combustion engine, or modification to its control unit. It is adjusted to yield optimal performance, to increase an engine's power output and/or durability.

Resto-Mod

A restomod car has that timeless appearance of the original, but the outdated guts of the car have been replaced with much more modern, high-performance parts available today. Bruce Harvey

Bruce is a genius when it comes to building, painting and restoring cars. He has a one-of-a-kind gift that one rarely sees. Between the custom paint colors, airbrushing, and body fabrication it is no surprise he has won over 100 awards including 12 Best of Show awards and the Darryl Starbird Personal Pick Award. In addition, his cars have been featured in movies, countless magazines, show venue billboards, show tickets and promotional items, and even a few have been displayed at the SEMA show in Las Vegas. Bruce knows it’s a team effort. He collaborates with the Pro Comp team and customers to build a unique car no one has ever seen. Around the shop, Bruce is always hard at work. He doesn’t sit in a cushy office; he’s out working on the shop floor wearing the same work shirt as the rest of the employees. His favorite Pro Comp cars are the 1970 Charger, Willys, Ratical Rod, and the 1964 Corvette (featured in Vette Magazine). When he was 12 he would sketch cars all day with the dream he would have his own custom shop. His dad was instrumental with this dream by having Bruce help him in the garage after school and on weekends. In 1988 Bruce opened Pro Comp Custom and has been living his dream and building cars like no other.

Matt

Matt is one of those rare people who uses both his left brain and his right brain. He has been dazzling Pro Comp customers with his artistry and mechanical abilities since 2008. He started his career as an electronics engineer, but his passion was cars. At 14 he began welding and tinkering with cars. Wanting to live the dream, he went back to school where he specialized in street rod and custom fabrication and graduated from WyoTech receiving the coveted Most Distinguished Student Award in his field. He is a true artist doing easel painting and car sketches using pastels and airbrushing. He is a nationally recognized rally race car driver (in his custom built 1994 Honda Civic) with a growing collection of trophies and accolades. In his spare time, you’ll find him at home hanging with his dog or out in the woods on his mountain bike. Also, Matt still owns the car he had in high school, a 1967 Volkswagen Beetle. His favorite Pro Comp car is the Renault Alpine A110 Berlinette with the Porsche 996 twin turbo drivetrain.

Will

Will moved to Pittsburgh from Moses Lake, WA to attend WyoTech, because of the school's top-of-the-line reputation. This speaks volumes of Will’s love of cars, his passion for restoration, and his desire to be the best. At 15 Will bought his grandfather’s ’77 Chevy pickup and once he got his hands on it he knew his destiny was to restore cars. He is well-versed on all aspects of car restoration, from mechanical to custom fabrication. In fact, he can say he built a chassis from scratch — and it is mind blowing! His favorite Pro Comp Custom car is the '66 Chevy Nova Pro Street and he has a long line of diverse personal favorites. His hobbies are mud racing, home improvement projects, and working on cars, but his favorite hobby is spending time with his three wonderful sons.

Jimmy

Jimmy is one cool cat. And for so many reasons. He was in the Navy, he’s lived all over the US, he was one of the original six members of the V-Dub Culture car club, he designs and builds dual purpose furniture, he’s an outstanding cook, he could star in his own outdoor adventure show, plus he keeps his mind fresh with reading everything from human behavior to economics. But the reason we value Jimmy is his work ethic, intelligence, and his mad fabrication skills. His favorite Pro Comp built car is the 1949 Mercury and his favorite personal car is an air-cooled VW. When not at the shop, you’ll find Jimmy spending quality time with his two best friends — his beloved dog, Highway and his dad.

Jimmy

Jesse

When you want unique artistry in your metalwork, look no further than Jesse. We are impressed with his creativity and perfectionistic welding skills. He can create a clean, modern look or an intricate custom pattern depending on the build. Jesse was educated early in the art of metal fabrication, since his dad had his own business of refinishing and selling muscle cars. He furthered his expertise by graduating from Wyotech with concentrations in Street Rod and Collision Refinishing. Jesse’s hobbies are all right-brained (as one would expect) and in addition to drawing, he is a professional tattoo artist. His favorite car is the Datsun 240Z and his favorite Pro Comp car is the ’49 Mercury.

Jesse

Randy

Randy grew up in Lancaster and like many of us, started wrenching on the family vehicles with his dad. It didn’t take long for Randy to discover his passion for fabrication and customization. Randy started his wrenching career working on Subarus. Now a highly skilled metal worker and mechanic with meticulous attention to detail, Randy lives for that first drive after a completed build. When he’s not working at the shop or at home on his chopped ’28 Studebaker, he’s touring the countryside on his ’22 HD Street Glide Special or competing (and winning) at pool tournaments. Randy’s all-time favorite car is the classic ’69 Chevelle and his favorite Pro Comp build is the ’40 Ford Coupe.

Randy

Ian

We always marvel at Ian’s impeccable appearance. Even though he is dressed in mechanic’s attire, he always looks polished. Equally marveling is his vast knowledge of any and every subject. Ian began his higher education at Temple, but his love for cars was too strong not to pursue. We have his dad to thank for Ian’s car enthusiasm. He had a home garage and Ian would watch his dad work on a variety of projects. In grade school he would hand his dad tools AND help change brakes and shocks. While Ian can do about anything, he leans toward wiring and interiors. His hobbies are baseball, playing guitar, graphic design, and (of course) working on cars. Not to mention he gets to daily drive his ’70 C20 pick up. His favorite car is the iconic Corvette and his favorite Pro Comp build is the 1000hp 1962 Bonneville.

Ian

Jim

Jim’s parents always knew where to find him – in the garage building something. The first mode of transportation he constructed was a skateboard made from his old metal skates. He was bit by the hot rod bug early. He helped his granddad in the junkyard by disassembling cars, which gave him knowledge about how to handle metal. That skill set came in handy later in life when he started chopping and metal fabricating. Jim’s hobbies are fishing, hunting and perfecting his shot at target practice. He has been married to his wonderful wife, Sue, for 30 years and has three kids. His favorite type of car is anything boat tail – picture an Auburn or Buick. Jim’s favorite Pro Comp build is the blue 1968 chopped and sectioned Camaro.

Jim

Joey

Joey discovered his love for old cars on his father’s shoulders wandering through endless rows of classics at the local hot rod shows. But, the defining moment for Joey was on a trip to his grandparents’ house in Missouri for Easter when he was about 7. He was awoken early Easter morning by the distinct sound of a growling Hemi, when he looked out the window, sitting in the driveway was a gorgeous ’67 Coronet. Joey was hooked. Joey’s specialties are metal fabrication and body work. Outside of the shop, Joey finds his peace tending his home garden. His favorite car of all time is the ’69 Hemi Roadrunner and his favorite Pro Comp build is the “Solo” ’70 Charger.

Joey

Rob

Rob is by far the best detailer in the universe. He started his path to excellence as a teenager washing big rigs at the local Mack truck lot. He quickly discovered the satisfaction that comes from taking dirty vehicles and returning them back to showroom condition. Rob spent years honing his technique and eye for detail and now, as our lead detailer, he is responsible for the final finish of each of Bruce’s incredible paint jobs. In his free time, Rob enjoys landscaping and he keeps his yard as well detailed as his truck. Rob’s favorite car of all time is the C4 Corvette and his favorite Pro Comp build is the one-of-a-kind ’31 Chevy coupe.

Rob

Steve

When Steve was a little kid, his older brother picked up a cherry ’66 LeMans convertible to drive back and forth to school. Cruising the strip with his brother, top down in that old LeMans was the epitome of cool and became the foundation for a lifetime obsession with all things cars. After graduating from Penn State with an engineering degree, Steve affirmed his passion for cars and started his career tearing down engines at a local machine shop. After the machine shop, Steve shifted gears into a parts role and says his favorite part of the build process is hunting for those hard-to-find parts tucked away on a shelf in a garage, covered in dust, just waiting to be added to one of our wild custom or concours restorations. Steve’s favorite car of all time is a ’41 Willys Coupe and his favorite Pro Comp build is, fittingly, the wild green and black ’41 Willys Coupe.

Steve

Zach

Zach has always had a thing for cars, clearly he inherited that passion from his grandfather who is a classic car aficionado. Zach attended vocational school as a teenager, and then graduated from the highly rated Ohio Technical College. He must be related to Von Dutch, because he has mad pinstriping skills and enjoys custom painting. In his free time, Zach likes hanging out with his friends and working on cars. He built his daily driver and is working on a second one. His favorite car is a 70s Plymouth Duster and his favorite Pro Comp vehicle is the red ’48 Ford Truck.

Zach

Cody

Cody emerged from the womb wielding a wrench. Naturally, he inherited his love for building cars from his dad, Jim (yes, the Jim in the above profile). They worked on too many projects to count in their home garage and still love doing it full time. Cody has three daughters and one of them is just like her daddy – she has a toolbox and enjoys wrenching in the garage with her hero. His hobbies are fishing, hunting and trying to be a better marksman than his dad at the shooting range. And he likes taking small cars and making them go fast – like his 1975 Pinto with a 2.3 liter turbo. He loves old trucks, so naturally his favorite Pro Comp vehicle is the black ’56 Ford F-100.
